Mixed Martial Arts question!!!?

Judo was the first martial art that I studied as a child and it was fairly popular back then. A few of the things I have observed about it are that it does not have as many submissions as BJJ and it also does not teach some aspects as early as BJJ does. Chokes in Judo for instance were not taught and used until the adult brown belt level. Some of this may have changed over the years but also remember that Judo was developed as a means of exercise and a more gentle means of self-defense than jujitsu from which it came. While BJJ takes a different approach to so some aspects than traditional jujitsu it offers a lot of techniques taught early on that help make people more capable in defending themselves and more skilled for fighting. So that makes it more effective along with its abundance of submissions and chokes that it also offers in a lot of ways in my mind and based on my early experience with Judo.
